The National Committee of Bioethics organizes a workshop entitled "Gene Editing .. Ethical Aspects"
With the participation of a number of specialists and researchers interested in bioethics in the field of genetic sciences, doctors, jurists, faculty members, researchers and students in universities and research centers.
The workshop, which was approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties with a duration of six continuing medical education hours, aimed to discuss a number of themes related to gene editing and its link to ethical aspects in the field of biological research, and to review global experiences related to the uses of gene editing in the treatment of genetic diseases in this field, and how people and society deal with these developments, especially with the absence of globally agreed controls to differentiate between the permitted and prohibited use of genetic editing.
